inspired by maymont’s italian garden
As we prep for this weekend’s wedding, it’s fun to look back at the inspiration we gathered for it!

Not-So-Expo Wedding Expo at Quirk Gallery in Richmond
Quirk Gallery is hosting a not-so-expo wedding expo at the gallery this Saturday, May 14th from 12-4 pm, featuring the talents of local & independent artists, a unique selection of gifts for the bride, groom or attendants, as well as an assortment of wedding decor items. Look for engagement & wedding rings by Carla Caruso, invitations & cards by Shuford Prints, costume jewelry by Isabelle Krupnick, orchids from Chadwick & Sons decorating the gallery, and elegant white vases by Julia Gabriel. There will be snacks, drinks, and a chance to win a $150 gift certificate.
Some of my favorite things at Quirk: 1. Forget Me Knot rings make wonderful bridesmaids gifts; 2. Richmond totes for out of town welcome bags with local flavor; 3. colorful tape for any D.I.Y. projects you might have up your sleeve; 4: Jonathan Adler salt & pepper shakers make a modern cake topper; 5: retro swirly straws
richmond wedding wednesdays: virginia center for architecture
Richmond Wedding Wednesdays rerun, originally posted last July…one of my favorite boards for the Virginia Center for Architecture. Wouldn’t it be lovely for a winter soiree?
The idea for this post all started with the Schumacher pattern (top right) — the Pyne Hollyhock Print. I could live on the Schumacher website, but I digress.
This board feels to me like it should be named “frankly my dear.” I imagine a debutante gone wrong, challenging convention, throwing on a black wedding gown and some silvery pumps and heading on out to say “I do” in style at The Virginia Center for Architecture. Because, as we all know, VCA is like the most gorgeous wedding venue in RVA.

happy thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving one day early! I’m signing off for the rest of the week, but must tell all of you how thankful I am for your support over the last three years. This blog has been such a blessing in so many ways, but it wouldn’t be what it is without you! I hope you have a very special holiday and look forward to seeing you back here on Monday.

57 Grand coming to Richmond’s Bella Bridesmaid
Hi ladybugs! We’re about to run to a wedding rehearsal but wanted to drop in to tell you that the 57Grand collection will be coming to Richmond’s Bella Bridesmaid this month! Bella Bridesmaid Richmond will feature the full collection of bridesmaid looks, all 11 styles.
Inspired by New York City, all 57Grand dresses are made in NYC and are named after New York City streets. The designers draw inspiration from the city’s runways, art galleries and street life. Be sure to check out 57 Grand’s site, which is full of ideas on how to re-wear the dresses after the event. And be sure to call Lyndsay and Elizabeth at Bella Bridesmaid here in Richmond to make an appointment to stop by the store (804-658-0105)! xo

richmond welcome totes
I just love these Richmond bags from Quirk Gallery. They’re perfect for out of town welcome bags or for wedding party gifts. I’d also be tempted to include these. For more Virginia welcome bag ideas, see this post.
merci!
We’re off to this weekend’s wedding, cute favors in hand!
