colorful fun happy table

Pink, orange and yellow are perennially pretty party colors, but the addition of red, in this table designed by Gen Sohr for Southern Living, is incredible! The wallpaper Sohr used as a runner is brilliant as well! To see more, visit Gen’s blog.

Ruby Press threw a Carnival of Sweets at Miette to celebrate viv&ingrid’s ten year anniversary. I think this might just be the perfect sweet treat to end the holiday week! Enjoy!

Cabbage Roses

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

There’s nothing like a cabbage rose. Said to have more than 100 petals, cabbage roses were a favorite of Dutch painters. Most always a shade of pink, they have the loveliest scent (so lovely that rose oil is cultivated from them to make perfume).

Monday Morning Mimosas…mmm

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

While we were in New York, Maria, Nole, Vane and I stopped by the Smock Sample Sale to indulge in a bunch of goodies from Russell+Hazel, Linnea’s Lights, Delphine, Green Paper Company and Smock.

The ladies did such an amazing job decorating the space in crepe paper garlands and globes in pinks, oranges and yellows. Guests were served yummy mimosas, lemonade and yellow macaroons. Candy dishes were sprinkled on all of the tables.

Pin cushion plants fit perfectly with the color scheme and were a pretty accent on top of the cocktail tables. Erika filled juice glasses with lemon candy and pink whoppers.

If you haven’t checked out the work of these amazing vendors, be sure to. I’m enjoying a beautiful Tuberose candle right now from Linnea’s Lights right now. Can’t wait to order the Winter scent. Click here for more information about Monday Morning Mimosas.

Richmond Wedding Wednesdays #35 : Lawn Games

I thought today would be a good day for a warm summer board. I love the idea of a reception filled with all sorts of lawn games – bocce ball, badminton, croquet. Wouldn’t it be nice to escape into this board, especially as the snow falls here in Richmond, for a glass of cold ice tea and a breezy summer dress? To get more inspiration along these lines, look to this luncheon coordinated by Kathryn Kenna Events.

This board started with the sherbert colored bouquet by Erin at Rosenow Floral Design. Erin creates beautiful bouquets, arrangements and bespoke boutounnieres, called Fritts Rosenow. The bespoke pieces are made of little treasures like vintage dollhouse furniture, toys from the 40s & 50s, or shells she finds on the beach.
