Southern Weddings Volume 5
We had such a great time working with Southern Weddings Magazine again, this time on a concept set at Tuckahoe Plantation in Richmond, using a classic palette of green and white accented by the palest blue. I can’t wait to show you more behind the scenes of this shoot (photographed by Katie Stoops), but for now, you can get your copy on newsstands or by ordering here.
color palette crush
Hope you have a lovely weekend! My mom and grandmother are coming to see the baby, and it will be the first time that Birdie meets her great grandmother — so exciting! Before I dash off from the internet for the weekend, I had to share this color palette that I’m dying over right now. A mixture of cerulean, teal, emerald green, grellow (as young house love would say) and a few shades in between, this combo is bright, fun and totally modern. Hope you have a lovely weekend. xo

I’m not wearing green today, but this post makes up for it, I’m sure. Paired with blue, yellow or with white (always a classic combo), green couldn’t be more perfect for weddings. It’s such a happy color. Grace of Design*Sponge and Vané of Brooklyn Bride both used green in such beautiful ways at their weddings (like Grace’s programs above, featured in Martha Stewart Weddings and Vane’s bouquet below featured on Once Wed).

shades of green
Polly Wreford is such an inspiration. I love these images in shades of green…lime, chartreuse, kelly green and emerald. Stay tuned. I’ll be back in a bit with some of my favorite green wedding day details.

classic white wedding
There’s nothing I’m loving quite as much these days as the thought of a classic white wedding.

runaway
I ran across this video* on Shannon’s blog; not sure where I’ve been, but I saw it for the first time last week. That table, the colors, the ballerinas…major inspiration…never mind the lyrics (cover your delicate ears).
*You can see the full length version here {again, your ears…language, Kayne, language}. Bless you if you can make it through the acting. I recommend scrolling through to 11:00 where you can see more of the prettiness.
confetti system
Quite possibly the most perfect, most beautiful, most fun party decorations ever by Confetti System.

richmond wedding wednesdays: katie + ralph
Katie and Ralph were married just a few weeks ago at The Mill at Fine Creek. Despite the sweltering July heat, Katie couldn’t have been more beautiful, carrying a bouquet designed by my good friend Janie Medley (the brides cafe & jm flora).
Favors made by petites bouchees, dressed up with “merci” flags we made with this stamp from paper source. We also bagged favors in simple, white bags I found at a craft store and stamped them with the larger merci stamp, also from paper source.
Congratulations Katie and Ralph! I loved working with you! xo And thank you so much to Jennifer Colina Photography for sharing these images!
