A Shower for Bebe Bjornard
I spotted this adorable shower for Abigail and Bebe Bjornard over at Oscar & Emma. Karly is such a talented designer. Just check out the beautiful invitation she designed for Abigail — a screen printed onesie in a box lined with registry details, sealed with a wraparound label. Love the other sweet paper details too — handmade paper rosettes and striped popcorn boxes. Congratulations Abigail, and thanks for sharing, Karly!
16 wedding foods that should be banned courtesy Bon Appetit
Rarely do I feel comfortable getting snarky about people’s choices for their weddings. It’s your wedding after all, and you should have what you want. But, seriously, guys. Seriously. Bon Appetit hits the nail on the head with their slideshow of 16 wedding foods that should be banned. That chocolate fountain. Um, that’s a no. Really. It’s a no. Any other foods you’re oh-so-over that you’d add to the list?
word of the week: sidepole draping
Unless you’re renting a sperry tent, which has really beautiful wooden poles that support the tent, you’ll likely have metal poles to contend with. Draping is one way to conceal unattractive metal poles. White chiffon-like draping is a classic choice, as in the first image below by Leo Patrone, but you can also go the custom route, matching draping to your tent decor, as in the second and third images.

Darling Sally!
Kiernan Shipka is just about as darling as they come. Featured here in The Coveteur (old news, I know), the actress who plays Sally on Mad Men talks about her love of organization, design and ballet. {Please, tell me, Kiernan, that you also organize your closet by color! Then I’ll know we’re true BFFs.}
You’ll have to pop over and read the full Coveteur interview with Miss Shipka, where she shares some of her original designs. Yes, she’s a designer too! All by the age of eleven!

dreamy flowers…
…by Amy Merrick, of Design*Sponge, An Apple a Day and Amy Merrick Flowers and Styling. The story of the design of Amy’s site that just launched this week is fascinating. I’m as much in love with Dutch still life paintings as she is. Love her inspiration and the way it came to life.
vintage Virginia save the date
Loving this vintage style, Virginia-themed save the date that Ashley of Lemon and Lavender designed for her client, Sarah. Their entire wedding suite is inspired by Virginia — can’t wait to see more from this wedding!
crushing on….
…this genius use of canvas bags for floral containers. Pretty to decorate with and easy for guests to tote home as favors at the end of the evening. the nursery {a work in progress}

Things are finally starting to come together in the baby’s room. We originally set out to create a girly space full of yellow and coral, but when I saw the rug at the Shades of Light outlet, it was obvious that we had to go with blue. I’m really loving the tranquility of the blue and the pattern play — an all white room lets us really go crazy with pattern.
