I hope to see all of you this Sunday at 4 at VMFA for the 7th Annual Artful Wedding! Yesterday’s ticket giveaway was such a nice gift from the girls at Richmond Bride, but today I have a book to giveaway, Signature Sasha, written by this weekend’s special guest, Sasha Souza. To enter: please leave a comment here on today’s post. Because Sasha and her clients love color, tell me what your favorite color is and how you’re incorporting it into your Virginia wedding.*
*Sorry but this contest is only open to couples who are getting married in Virginia. Contest closes on Saturday, June 11th at 5 PM. The winner will be randomly selected. Bonne chance!
Quirk Gallery is hosting a not-so-expo wedding expo at the gallery this Saturday, May 14th from 12-4 pm, featuring the talents of local & independent artists, a unique selection of gifts for the bride, groom or attendants, as well as an assortment of wedding decor items. Look for engagement & wedding rings by Carla Caruso, invitations & cards by Shuford Prints, costume jewelry by Isabelle Krupnick, orchids from Chadwick & Sons decorating the gallery, and elegant white vases by Julia Gabriel. There will be snacks, drinks, and a chance to win a $150 gift certificate.
Some of my favorite things at Quirk: 1. Forget Me Knot rings make wonderful bridesmaids gifts; 2. Richmond totes for out of town welcome bags with local flavor; 3. colorful tape for any D.I.Y. projects you might have up your sleeve; 4: Jonathan Adler salt & pepper shakers make a modern cake topper; 5: retro swirly straws
Thank you to everyone who entered the Williams-Sonoma gift card giveaway! I’m happy to announce that we’ve found a winner via Random.org. Sarah, contact me to collect your prize!
It’s no secret just how much I love Williams-Sonoma. It was the first place my husband and I registered, and it’s a place we still love to shop. So, I’m glad to be able to give one of you a $150.00 gift card!
I’m a big fan of keeping things classic in the kitchen. We have all sorts of whiteware and all of our appliances are either white or stainless steel. It makes mixing and matching very easy, and it keeps everything looking clean! That’s why I love the look of look of the classic, everyday Williams-Sonoma pantry dinnerware; beautiful, well-crafted Laguiole flatware; and the Picardie glass tumblers.
The one color we have added here and there in our kitchen is the beautiful Creuset lemongrass (shown above); we use our dutch oven and grill pan more than I can tell you! My other faves that are on constant duty in my kitchen are the microplane rasp grater and the pretty Pillivuyt Rectangular Baker.
I’d love to hear more about your favorites and to give each of you a chance to win a $150.00 gift card. Here’s how you can enter. First, visit Williams-Sonoma and create your registry. Then, come back here and leave a comment, letting me know that you’ve created your registry and telling me about your favorite item on your registry. If you’ve already created a registry, just add one more item to your registry, then leave me a comment mentioning what you added. This contest is open to anyone with a *wedding* registry. The contest ends on 3/7 at 5 PM EST. The randomly selected winner will be announced on 3/8. Good luck!
Anne Chertoff, editor-in-chief of Aisle Dash, will be hosting an event at Williams-Sonoma this Sunday, February 27th in New York at the 121 E 59th Street store. She’ll be dishing on wedding planning, style and registry tips. Anne is a wealth of knowledge, and the first lucky 40 to rsvp will get to spend some QT with her! Find out all of the details here!
Have you heard that Urban Outfitters/Anthropologie will soon launch a wedding boutique, BHLDN? It’s rumored there will be fifteen dresses in the debut line, bridesmaids dresses, party dresses, jewelry and accessories, as well as wedding decor, available at its online boutique. A bricks and mortar store is slated to open later in the year. Keep up with the news here.
For all of you in or around Savannah, and for those who are planning a destination wedding in the city, be sure to put the Behind the Veil bridal event on your calendar. Emily Newman, of Once Wed, and Liz Demos, of Elizabeth Demos Event Design, will host brunch at the event on January 30, 2011. Not an event to be missed!

Hope to see all of my Richmond readers at J.Crew next Thursday evening for a shopping event hosted by Janie at The Brides Cafe. Be sure to rsvp to Janie (Janie@jmflora.com) by Sunday if you can attend!
