Happy Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 24th, 2011

Happy Thanksgiving sweet friends, clients and readers. I have so much to be thankful for. This has been the best year I’ve known so far, truly. From working with the girls at Southern Weddings to partnering with some of the most creative clients, the work I’ve been able to do this year has been so much fun to do . My clients have been such a joy, all so much fun to get to know. I’ve worked with amazingly talented people — from  The Sorrell Company and Kip Dawkins, working on projects for Thibaut and Anna French, to the talented creative people in the wedding community, many of whom I’m lucky to call friends! And, of course, there’s Connally, our sweet baby we welcomed on October 11th — the greatest gift of the year, for sure! Happy Thanksgiving and love to all of you!

Southern Living Wedding planner and keepsake

Friday, November 18th, 2011

We’re so happy for our friends Maria and Kelly of Ritzy Bee Events on the publication of their new wedding planning book with Southern Living Magazine, available in stores and online at Amazon beginning January 3rd. From Maria and Kelly, “The planner is a guide to planning your wedding…no matter how big or small in size or budget…and is a fresh approach on how to stay organized, what to expect at each step and hopefully (mostly) stress free through the process!”

We’re so honored to be included in their list of inspiring blogs — thank you M + K! If you’d like to enter to win a copy of Maria and Kelly’s new book, visit the Ritzy Bee Blog.

do you pin?

I’m so super addicted to pinterest. Several months ago, a client encouraged me to join, and I did, having absolutely zero idea what the hype was about, but it’s truly one of the most useful tools that’s been introduced online in a long time. It satiates my need for visual organization in a major kind of way. Gone are the days of organizing + cross referencing thousands of images on my desktop.

I believe my obsession devotion has paid off since merriment has recently been recognized as a tastemaker in weddings + events! I’m pinning handfuls of boards thematically for weddings — from color stories, to paper details, to Richmond focused wedding inspiration. The classic board has to be one of my favorites though.

But, lately, I’ve been obsessing over pinning ideas for baby. From baby shower inspiration to a generalized board with all things bitty.

Some of my favorite posts from around the web…

Emily gives you a behind the scenes preview of the shoot we did for Southern Weddings in Williamsburg here.

Are you curious what a wedding planner does?

Have you visited the pop up shops at 100 Layer Cake? This week, our friend Julianne Smith of The Garter Girl is holding a flash sale.

Love the recipes Tara Guerard shared on Design*Sponge last week.

What creative wedding invitations you have my dear!
