modern wedding cake inspiration from magpie’s cake
You might have seen Magpie’s cakes making their debut on some of your favorite wedding blogs. I couldn’t resist posting Maggie’s work here too. You might be able to guess from the look of her confections that Maggie was a ballet dancer. Her cakes seem to float…they’re full of gesture, aren’t they?

cake toppers by katie runnels
A few weeks ago when we visited Savannah, we stopped into shopSCAD, and I ran into the work of Katie Runnels, who was kind enough to share a few images of her work here with us today! Katie’s wreathes caught my eye at shopSCAD, but when I started to look closer at her work, I realized I’ve known of her for a long time. Katie made Grace Bonney’s beautiful cake topper.
Katie’s pieces tell a story and feel like modern heirlooms, which is why I love her work so much. You can find her at her blog, The Constant Gatherer, which is such a fitting title for an artist whose work is all about assemblage of found objects, or at her etsy shop. Thanks Katie!
wayne thiebaud wedding cakes
Hi everyone! Taking a blogging break today to celebrate my {gasp} thirtieth birthday with my honey. It’s a special week not only because I’m an old lady now, but because Jon (my husband) and I met each other this week exactly seven years ago! Hope you have a wonderful start to your week! xo

d.sharp cake garlands

I’ve always been a huge fan of d.Sharp. The woman is fierce with paper. Loving her newest creation…postage stamp cake garlands. And there’s word she’ll be releasing DIY kits of stamp garlands. Can’t wait to see them!

New Cupcake Towers from Petite Bouchees
What’s better than cupcakes? A cupcake tower from Veronica at Petite Bouchees. And when you put a lovely silk peony on top made by EmiciBridal at Etsy: gorgeousness. Veronica’s work is delicate, beautiful and delectable.
