Courtney studied art history, focusing on modern art, and graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University. She then spent two years at The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts working on the Museum’s capital campaign. With projects completed on the capital campaign, Courtney set her sights on graduate school. She attended the #1 nationally ranked Brandcenter, where she studied strategic planning and earned an M.S. in communications. At the same time, Courtney began penning her blog and soon realized her calling had found her. As what was then little white book, but is now the merriment blog, grew and became nationally recognized, Courtney began taking her first event clients in 2008.
More than five years later, Courtney has produced weddings at The Country Club of Virginia, The Jefferson, Maymont, Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, The Williamsburg Inn, Veritas Vineyard, Tuckahoe Plantation and a handful of private homes.
